China complained Thursday that the European Union is using an “unfair” sampling result and “opaque” process in its inquiry into subsidies for Chinese electric vehicles.

The EU didn’t use data representing the largest auto exporters to the bloc and instead picked three Chinese automakers in its sampling, China’s Commerce Ministry spokesperson He Yadong said Thursday at a regular press conference.
