Politburo Deliberates New Rules to Tighten Party Control Over Foreign Affairs

What’s new: China’s Politburo, the Communist Party’s top decision-making body, discussed a set of new regulations aimed at strengthening the party’s control over the country’s foreign affairs at a meeting chaired by President Xi Jinping on Monday, state media reported.
The regulations, the full text of which has yet to be released, “are of great significance to the sound implementation of the policies, principles and strategic plans made by the CPC Central Committee on external affairs,” the Politburo said at the meeting, according to the official Xinhua News Agency.
