Henry Kissinger, the former U.S. secretary of state who was a key figure in the normalization of Sino-U.S. relations over half a century ago and visited China over a hundred times, passed away at his home in Connecticut on the evening of Nov. 29, U.S. Eastern Time, Kissinger’s consulting firm said. He was 100.
President Xi Jinping sent a message of condolence to his U.S. counterpart Joe Biden on the passing of Kissinger, expressing deep sympathy to the family of the late former diplomat, the Chinese foreign ministry said Thursday.
