What’s new: German automakers BMW AG and Mercedes-Benz Group AG said Thursday that they have signed an agreement to establish a joint venture for operating a fast-charging network for electric vehicles (EVs) in China.
The joint venture expects to install at least 1,000 high-power charging stations with around 7,000 charging piles in China by the end of 2026, the companies said in the statement. The fast-charging stations will be open to all other EV brands in addition to BMW’s and Mercedes-Benz’s users in the country.
