China’s Top Leadership Pledges Stronger Focus on Growth Next Year

China’s top leadership has emphasized a stronger focus on “progress” next year, along with a commitment to spur domestic demand and strengthen macro policies, as the country is on track to hit its annual growth target of around 5%.

At a Friday meeting chaired by President Xi Jinping, China’s Politburo urged efforts to “pursue progress while ensuring stability” and “consolidate stability through progress,” the state-run Xinhua News Agency reported.
