Chinese authorities have issued wanted notices for 10 leading figures in alleged telecom fraud syndicates operating out of a self-administered zone in northern Myanmar, as Beijing steps up a crackdown against widespread cybercrimes against Chinese citizens.

Public security agencies in Liaoning and Fujian provinces, as well as Chongqing municipality, have each offered rewards of up to 500,000 yuan ($70,000) for information related to any of the 10 identified as ringleaders, the Ministry of Public Security (MPS) said in a Sunday statement.
