A viral video suggests mechanical failure grounded a London-bound China Eastern Airlines Corp. Ltd. (600115.SH) passenger jet that was forced to turn back to Shanghai shortly after takeoff on Saturday morning.

A China Eastern representative contacted by phone declined to comment on what would be the airline’s second safety incident in a week, directing Caixin to the company’s Weibo page, where it had made no statement.
