The Adora Magic City sailed from Shanghai on her first trial voyage on Dec. 23, 2023.

China established a state-owned cruise operator Friday to run its first domestically built large cruise ship, the Adora Magic City, which is set to begin its maiden voyage Jan. 1.

Huaxia International Cruise Co. Ltd., jointly owned by stated-owned China Tourism Group Corp. Ltd., China Cosco Shipping Corp. Ltd., China Merchants Group Ltd., Jinjiang International Co. Ltd., Shanghai Jiushi Co. Ltd. and Wusongkou Culture & Tourism Investment Group, will operate the Adora Magic City.
