On Jan. 18, 2019, China’s Supreme People’s Court and the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region’s government signed new agreement for the mutual recognition and enforcement of civil and commercial judgements between the Chinese mainland and Hong Kong courts.

On Nov. 10, 2023, the Hong Kong government issued an ordinance and new set of rules for mainland judgements in civil and commercial matters, both of which took effect on Jan. 29.
