Commentary: Four Snapshots of China’s Economy Taken on Holiday Trips Home

Before the Lunar New Year, members of my research team discussed an interesting assignment: Since everyone would be going home for the weeklong holiday, why not conduct field research on consumption and local sentiment in order to gain an in-depth understanding of China’s economic transformation first-hand.

Now that the Spring Festival holiday has ended, here are some snapshots from a variety of places around China.
