China to focus on new productive forces to modernize industry

Prioritizing the acceleration of new productive forces, the 2024 government work agenda focuses on modernizing the industrial system. At the opening of this year’s annual meeting of the National People’s Congress on Tuesday, Premier Li Qiang emphasized the importance of advancing the construction of a modern industrial system and accelerating the development of new productive forces in 2024. Among the initiatives, Li proposed the deepening of research and application in big data and artificial intelligence.
