What’s new: Hong Kong said it has not proposed banning the operation of any social media in the region, denying news reports that suggested a prohibition of such platforms including Facebook and Telegram under a draft law article.
“I can clearly and firmly say that the government has no intention to ban any social media,” the special administrative region’s Justice Secretary Paul Lam said during a meeting of the Legislative Council Wednesday.
