Exclusive: China Probes Another Central Bank Official Linked to Fallen Businessman

A central bank official’s detention earlier this month is connected to a businessman who had bribed disgraced former People’s Bank of China (PBOC) Deputy Governor Fan Yifei, multiple sources with knowledge of the matter told Caixin.

Zhou Pengbo, director of business management in the PBOC’s Payment and Settlement Department, has been detained by graft busters, the sources said, noting that he has become unreachable since March 4.
