What’s new: Li Yong, the former deputy party secretary and general manager of China National Offshore Oil Corp. (CNOOC), is under disciplinary review and supervisory investigation on suspicion of serious violations of the law, the Communist Party’s Central Commission for Discipline Inspection said Friday.
Li, 60, retired from the state-owned oil and gas giant just three months ago. He joined the group from college in 1984 and had taken various management positions at its subsidiaries, including the head of Shanghai and Hong Kong-listed China Oilfield Services Ltd.
