What’s new: A former president of a top Beijing hospital has been hauled off by corruption investigators, Caixin has learned from multiple sources, amid an intensified crackdown on the health care industry.

Tian Wei, a renowned orthopedic physician and pioneer in robotics for this medical field, is also a member of the prestigious Chinese Academy of Engineering. He served as the president of Beijing Jishuitan Hospital from 2003 to 2020.
