China’s shipbuilding exports surged by 21.4% year-on-year to $31.87 billion in 2023

China’s Ministry of Commerce has held a meeting with the country’s major shipyards to come up with countermeasures in response to a potential trade investigation by the United States.

The meeting drew up plans to establish a national-level task force and legal team to address the issue and to thoroughly assess the impact should an investigation go ahead, Caixin learned.
