The chiefs of two Australian mining giants have praised China’s progress at promoting green development, saying that the country’s efforts will create new opportunities for their businesses.

Speaking at a media roundtable on Sunday, Rio Tinto Group CEO Jakob Stausholm said that he was “very inspired” by China’s efforts to tackle climate change. During a tour last year, he witnessed the country’s rapid development in the solar, wind power, grid construction and electric vehicle (EV) industries, which he saw as being able to provide “more demand for our products,” such as copper, aluminum and battery materials.
