After Taiwan Quake, Top Chipmaker Says Going All Out to Restart Production

The world’s largest contract chipmaker said that it is deploying “all available resources” to ensure it can get production fully back on track in the wake of the 7.3-magnitude earthquake that struck Taiwan’s east coast on Wednesday morning.
Within 10 hours of the temblor, the strongest to hit the island since 1999, Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. Ltd. (TSMC) had more than 70% of its equipment in operation, with this figure reaching over 80% at some of its newer plants, the firm said in a statement sent to Caixin on Wednesday evening.
