Exhibitors at the 135th Canton Fair are witnessing a notable rebound in orders as global markets clear pandemic-induced backlogs, signaling robust growth in exports this year. But participants also reported a fierce price war that is squeezing manufacturers’ bottom line.

Established in 1957, the twice-yearly trade fair held in the southern metropolis of Guangzhou, is a big contributor to China’s exports, and widely viewed as an indicator of the country’s foreign trade. This year’s spring session opened on April 15, with a focus on advanced manufacturing and household products.
