Foreign Carmakers Give China’s EV Industry Its Due at Beijing Auto Show, Researcher Says

Foreign exhibitors are paying more attention to the electric vehicle (EV) technologies on display by Chinese companies at this year’s Beijing auto show, a marked change from years past when they mainly used the event to hype their own vehicles, an industry researcher told Caixin.

The change illustrates the increasing recognition that China’s EV industry is getting from foreign carmakers as they spearhead the auto industry’s pivot to electrification, said Paul Gong, UBS Group AG’s head of China autos research.
