Xi, Macron Add Personal Touch to Chinese President’s Visit

The Chinese and French leaders held informal talks in the Pyrenees on Tuesday during President Xi Jinping’s official visit to France this week, where they continued to engage in a heads-of-state meeting with a more personal touch.

Amid a “relaxing and cordial atmosphere,” the two presidents exchanged views on “a number of important issues critical to the world,” the Chinese foreign ministry said in a statement. It followed formal conversations they had the previous day that touched on economic relations, trade disputes and geopolitical tensions.
