(Bloomberg) — The European Union plans to introduce an additional 9% tariff on Tesla vehicles imported from China, it said Tuesday as it notified automakers of its draft decision for tariffs on all electric vehicles (EVs) shipped from China.
EU officials said they would continue to consult manufacturers before member states vote on the tariffs, which are intended to counter subsidies Beijing provides to the industry. The tariffs are due to kick in November.
