(Nikkei Asia) — Philippine authorities said on Wednesday that a fugitive former mayor accused of links to Chinese criminal syndicates has been arrested in Indonesia.
Alice Guo, who was dismissed as mayor of the small town of Bamban on the island of Luzon on Aug. 13, had been on the run after refusing to attend hearings that were part of a Philippine Senate investigation into her alleged criminal ties.
