Huawei Expands EV Push With Dongfeng Motor Tie-Up

Huawei Technologies Co. Ltd. has set up a new auto company with Dongfeng Motor Group Co. Ltd. to launch a new electric vehicle (EV) brand, according to a person familiar with the matter, as the Chinese tech giant accelerates its push into China’s highly competitive car market.
The new venture will be operated by Dongfeng Passenger Vehicle Technology (Chengdu) Co. Ltd., a company established Thursday with a registered capital of 100 million yuan ($14 million), the person told Caixin. The company is owned by Dongfeng, the person said.
