(The Wall Street Journal) — Elon Musk publicly retreated on some of his attacks on President Trump after a pair of phone calls between the camps, including one with the president, according to people familiar with the matter.
First, Vice President JD Vance and White House chief of staff Susie Wiles pushed Musk to repair his relationship with Trump after the tech billionaire blew up at the president in a dramatic and public falling out, according to people familiar with the call. In a call last Friday, the vice president and Wiles urged Musk to put an end to the public feud.
Then on Monday, Trump and Musk spoke over the phone for the first time since the blowup, according to people familiar with that call. The New York Times earlier reported on the Musk-Trump call.
