A rundown of the news making headlines in and around China:

China condemns attacks: Beijing has strongly condemned the recent U.S. airstrikes on Iranian nuclear facilities, cautioning that Washington’s actions violate international law and risk further destabilization of the Middle East. According to a Sunday post on the foreign ministry website, a spokesperson told reporters that “China calls on the parties to the conflict, especially Israel, to cease fire as soon as possible.” According to the country’s ambassador to the U.N., China, Russia and Pakistan have jointly proposed a draft Security Council resolution that calls for an immediate and unconditional ceasefire.
