Military anniversary parade: China will hold a major military parade for the first time to mark the 80th anniversary of the Japanese surrender that ended World War II, according to the Central Military Commission (CMC). All the equipment and weapons displayed during the parade, scheduled for Sept. 3 in Beijing’s Tiananmen Square, will be active-duty equipment, said Wu Zeke, a senior officer of the CMC's Joint Staff Department said at a press conference Tuesday. The gear will all be domestically produced and highly effective, Wu added.
