Sustainability Key to CATL’s Global Expansion, Executive Says

As Contemporary Amperex Technology Co. Ltd. (CATL) (300750.SZ) continues its global expansion, it’s burnishing its image by making its production processes more sustainable, a top executive told Caixin.
The latest example of this effort was seen in late June, when CATL announced it would make half of its batteries using recycled materials by 2042.
This sustainability drive is part of CATL’s attempt to enhance its brand image as it ramps up investment in Europe and other parts of the world, the company’s Vice President Jiang Li said in a recent interview with Caixin.
