Moutai: from Red Sorghum Field to a Revitalized and Sustainable Future
Since early August, the Moutai Organic Sorghum Bases in China’s southwestern Guizhou Province have turned crimson. The fields of Renhuai awaken in golden light, and each stalk of Hongyingzi sorghum—slender and proud—bears heavy clusters of jewel-like grains, promising a good harvest ahead.
On August 4, the 2025 Moutai Hongyingzi Sorghum Harvest Festival took place in Maopo Village, Changgang Town, Renhuai City, Guizhou. The event, themed as “Honoring the Grain Farmers with a Harvest: Committing to Quality for Generations”, attracted over 2,000 participants including sorghum farmers, inheritors of Moutai Liquor brewing technique, distributors and franchisers at home and abroad to celebrate the harvest of Hongyingzi Sorghum, as well as the vigorous rural revitalization.
