CX Briefing: China to Host International Summit

Major SCO summit: China will host the leaders of more than 20 nations, including Russia, Iran and India, for a Shanghai Cooperation Organisation summit next week. The Tianjin event is set to be the security-focused bloc’s largest gathering since its founding in 2001 and was described by an assistant foreign minister as one of China’s most important diplomatic events this year. Besides the heads of state and governments, several heads of international organizations including UN Secretary-General António Guterres have been invited.
