Midea Unveils Groundbreaking AI Factory

Inside Midea Group Co. Ltd.’s (000333.SZ) washing machine factory in Jingzhou, Central China’s Hubei province, human workers are no longer the primary operators. Instead, humanoid robots smoothly transport components, autonomous mobile robots (AMRs) navigate through production zones avoiding obstacles in real-time, and glasses powered by artificial intelligence (AI) guide quality inspectors with instant visual and data feedback. At the center of it all is a “factory brain,” orchestrating every movement, decision and process across the facility.
