Another doctor has been stabbed. On Sept. 22, Wang Haibin, director of the orthopedic center at the First Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine, was seriously injured after being stabbed by a man in his consultation room. An informed source told Caixin that Wang was changing another patient’s dressing when the assailant rushed in with a knife, stabbing Wang directly in the side of his chest. After Wang fell to the ground, the attacker stabbed him several more times. The source added that after hours of emergency surgery, Wang’s condition has stabilized and is out of immediate danger. The assailant was reportedly one of Wang’s patients who had a follow-up appointment a week prior.
