A prominent orthopedic surgeon in Guangzhou, Guangdong province, was stabbed and seriously injured by a man in his consultation room on Monday, in an attack carried out by a former patient.
Wang Haibin, director of the orthopedic center at the First Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine, is now in a stable condition after hours of emergency surgery. The attacker, who has since been apprehended by police, was a patient who had a follow-up appointment with Wang just a week before the incident.
