CATL Teams Up With GAC, JD.com on Custom Battery-Swapping EV

Chinese e-commerce giant JD.com Inc. is collaborating with Contemporary Amperex Technology Co. Ltd. (CATL) and Guangzhou Automobile Group Co. Ltd. (GAC) to launch a custom electric vehicle (EV) with battery-swapping capabilities.
The model is scheduled for an official launch during the upcoming "Double 11" shopping festival and will be sold exclusively on CATL’s flagship online store on JD.com, according to an Oct. 14 announcement from EVOGO, a subsidiary of the battery maker.
