China Warns of Overcrowding in Humanoid Robot Sector
China now has more than 150 humanoid robot companies, but authorities are cautioning against the risk of repetitive, low-quality products flooding the market. The National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) noted that more than half of these players are startups or cross-sector entrants. The top economic planner intends to improve industry standards and entry and exit mechanisms while supporting technological breakthroughs in “brain” models and cloud-edge computing coordination, spokesperson Li Chao said Thursday.
