Former Urban Planning Official Appointed Party Chief of Guangzhou

Feng Zhonghua, a former central government official with extensive experience in urban planning, has been appointed the new Communist Party chief of Guangzhou, the provincial capital of Guangdong.
The appointment was announced recently, according to the Southern Daily, the official newspaper of the provincial party committee. Feng, 55, replaces Guo Yonghang, who has stepped down as Guangzhou’s party chief and a member of Guangdong’s provincial party standing committee. Guo, who has reached the age of 60, will be moved to another role, the newspaper reported.
