Iran Tells China Domestic Unrest Was Incited by ‘Foreign Forces’

China’s top diplomat Wang Yi spoke with his Iranian counterpart on Thursday, as Tehran claimed to have quelled recent domestic unrest it blamed on foreign instigators.
Speaking in a phone call, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi briefed Wang on the latest developments in the country. Araghchi asserted that recent riots were incited by external forces but that stability has since been restored, according to a statement from China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
