Tencent Holdings Ltd. pushed back against accusations from the creator of the popular open-source artificial intelligence (AI) agent OpenClaw that the Chinese tech giant copied data from its public skill registry without supporting the project.
The dispute surfaced on the social media platform X on Thursday, when OpenClaw creator Peter Steinberger agreed with an X user’s comment that Tencent created SkillHub which “scraped all the skills from ClawHub and imported them into its own platform.” “I got an email once from folks complaining that my rate limits block them from scraping fast enough. They copy yet they don’t support the project in any way, Steinberger said on X.
