A former vice chairman of the China Securities Regulatory Commission (CSRC) has been indicted on bribery charges, China’s top prosecutor announced Tuesday.

Prosecutors accused Wang Jianjun of abusing his position to seek benefits for companies and individuals in areas including listings and financing, in exchange for an “especially huge” amount of bribes. The charges relate to multiple roles he held within the securities regulator, including senior posts overseeing market supervision.
