Alibaba Group Holding Ltd. has created a new group-level technology committee focused on artificial intelligence and named a new chief technology officer for its cloud computing unit.

Chief executive officer Eddie Wu announced the reshuffle on Wednesday, taking the helm of the new committee while tapping Li Feifei to lead cloud technology and AI infrastructure.
