China announced a 10-point plan on Sunday aimed at warming cross-Strait ties, offering a mix of economic incentives and a proposal to partially resume individual tourism to Taiwan.
The policy rollout by the Taiwan Work Office of the Communist Party’s Central Committee followed a mainland visit by Kuomintang Chairwoman Cheng Li-wun. Cheng led a delegation from April 7 to 12 at the invitation of the Central Committee and its General Secretary Xi Jinping. Xi met with Cheng to discuss the development of relations between the two parties and across the Taiwan Strait, the official Xinhua News Agency reported.
