Chinese President Xi Jinping met with Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez in Beijing on Tuesday, using the diplomatic exchange to champion multilateralism and warn against returning to a global “law of the jungle.”
During their morning meeting at the Great Hall of the People, Xi told Sanchez that China and Spain have maintained steady relations and strategic resolve despite a turbulent international landscape, according to the state-run Xinhua News Agency. Xi attributed this stability to making correct decisions based on shared interests, adding that deepening cooperation has bolstered both nations’ ability to pursue independent paths.
