The head of the World Energy Council (WEC) warned that the global energy transition could be delayed by decades if countries choose to build their own supply chains rather than utilizing China’s existing production capacity.

During a recent interview with Caixin, WEC Secretary General and CEO Angela Wilkinson said that the world needs China’s well-established clean energy supply chain regardless of how the Gulf crisis unfolds, dismissing concerns about the country’s alleged overcapacity in green transition-related products.
