China has removed a senior financial regulator following a corruption investigation, the latest sign of Beijing’s sweeping crackdown on misconduct in the sector.
The State Council removed Zhou Liang from his role as a vice minister of the National Financial Regulatory Administration (NFRA), according to an official statement issued Tuesday, about a month after the country’s top anti-graft body placed him under investigation.
