CATL Plans $5 Billion Hong Kong Share Placement for Global Expansion

Chinese battery-maker Contemporary Amperex Technology Co. Ltd. (CATL) (300750.SZ) plans to raise HK$39.2 billion ($5 billion) through a private placement of its Hong Kong shares to fund its global expansion.
CATL said before the market opened Tuesday that it plans to place 62.4 million H shares with no fewer than six investors at HK$628.20 apiece. The placement price represents a discount of about 7% to the previous trading day’s closing price.
