China’s core working-age unemployment eased in April but stayed near record highs, pointing to persistent strain in the labor market.
The surveyed urban unemployment rates for workers aged 25 to 29 and 30 to 59, excluding students, fell to 7.4% and 4.2% respectively in April from 7.7% and 4.3% in March, according to data released Wednesday by the National Bureau of Statistics.
