Si Xinran, a 25-year-old with hearing impairment, had been struggling to find work. “Companies would reject me as soon as they saw my condition,” she said. Feeling her disability was an obstacle she could never overcome, Si had almost given up — until she discovered a novel community in eastern China that changed her life.
