Yu Xiaoping, a former vice president of The People’s Insurance Co. (Group) of China Ltd. (PICC), is under investigation nearly nine years after retiring, underscoring the retroactive reach of Beijing’s financial anti-graft campaign.
Authorities took Yu away around late May, sources with knowledge of the matter told Caixin. On Saturday, China’s top anti-graft watchdog announced she is suspected of corruption.
