China’s pharmaceutical sector has grown into the world’s second-largest market, accounting for roughly 30% of the global pipeline for innovative drugs. Last year, the country approved a record 76 novel treatments, while overseas licensing agreements surged past $130 billion. Yet, as research and development accelerate, the industry faces a pressing hurdle: delivering these therapies to a broader patient base at affordable prices.
