Shenzhen Metro Names New Chairman as Vanke Strains Mount

Shenzhen Metro Group has appointed Huang Liping as chairman, filling a leadership vacancy at the state-owned transit operator as it faces mounting financial pressure from its exposure to China Vanke Co. Ltd.

The appointment puts a longtime engineering executive in charge of one of Shenzhen’s most important state companies at a time when its role as Vanke’s largest shareholder has drawn close market scrutiny.
